Fun in the Mountain Sun

Wednesday we started out on our family mountain adventure in true country style by eating breakfast at Cracker Barrel! Samuel loved his blueberry pancake, even if Magdalena wouldn't touch her egg and biscuit...
Babyland General (home of the original Cabbage Patch Kids) was our main event. Magdalena was overcome with glee and frantically said, "Baby! Baby! BABY!" the whole time we were there. A "baby" was born during our visit and so we named her Magdalena Rose having hopes of perhaps "adopting" her for our own Magda...BUT, those original dolls cost $200!! So, we opted for a boxed, store created CPK for Magdalena for $17 instead. She was just as thrilled with that one as the one we saw birthed from "Mother Cabbage." ;)
Aw! Aren't the cabbage cousins adorable!? Both of them enjoyed running around the outdoor garden before we left the "Hospital."
To finish our fun-filled day with a flourish, we went panning for gemstones. Dahlonega is famous for gold, but gems are there a plenty as well (and much more kid-friendly!). Poppy bought a big 5 gallon tub of sand and gems for us to sift. Magdalena and Samuel had a blast tossing the newly found "rocks" into the water flow - they also really liked splashing themselves too!
