2nd Anniversary

For our first anniversary, Petr and I took a nice weekend trip to the Krkonose mountains. But we have the little one this year who warrants local celebrations...so, we took advantage of the Christmas festivities in the Atlanta area and visited the Lights of Life display. It's a 6 acre display of Christmas lights set up on the Life Chiropractic College property. Below is just a very small sample of what we were awed with for about 30 minutes of driving around the college campus. After our leisurely drive, we went to Scalini's Italian Restaurant. They have excellent food and quite the romantic atmosphere. Our waitress was kind enough to take this photo of us after she delivered our meal. I ate every bite of my manicotti (and then some of Petr's pasta lover's combo), but Petr had leftovers to spare and made a lunch of it the next day. :)

P.s. This date was made possible by the kindness of my father who stayed home alone to babysit Magdalena for us! Thank you, Daddy!!

First shoes!

Magdalena has had this pair of shoes since this summer when Tereza gave them to her. But she's not worn them until this week. She is quite fascinated by them...she leans over to touch them and stroke them at every oppertunity. And several times she has tried to eat them!! I captured this picture as we were traveling to Babies-R-Us to shop with Aunt Jessica, Uncle Casey, and Cousin Samuel.

On the beach

Our little trio family on the beach just before returning to Georgia. The day we left Florida the weather decided to warm up...go figure!
Four generations of girls! My mom, me and Magdalena, my Oma (maternal grandmother).

Hair

On Friday, my sister Jessica cut my hair all off! She made 4 ponytails, averaging 11in each, and snipped those suckers right off. :-) Let me tell you, I am enjoying my new haircut! It's so much easier to manage...and doesn't get caught in my jacket zippers. ;-)

Florida

Just days after we arrived in the USA, we drove down to Florida to the beach house my family has vacationed in since I was a small girl. We had 4 generations of the family there! Even though the weather was in the 40's (or below freezing at night!), we had a wonderful time together walking the beach, collecting sea shells, watching the sunset, playing dominoes, and eating good seafood.
